Magnificent Calculator

Privacy policy · Last updated 27 October 2026

Magnificent Calculator needs no account, shows no adverts and does not track you. Your sums, history and settings stay on your own Windows computer. It only goes online when you ask it to: to refresh the UK bank holidays, to check the weather for a town you type in, and for Microsoft Store purchases.

1. Who we are

Magnificent Calculator is published by Magnificent Apps ("we", "us", "our"), an independent app maker based in the United Kingdom. We are responsible for any personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at any time at appsmagnificent@gmail.com. Our website is magnificentapps.com.

Magnificent Calculator is a calculator for Windows 10 and 11, sold through the Microsoft Store.

2. The information the app handles, at a glance

Your Luxury Suite purchaseMicrosoftMicrosoft; the app is only told whether it is unlocked

Tax, pay, VAT and other money sums are worked out on your screen and are never sent anywhere.

3. When the app goes online

Magnificent Calculator works offline. It connects to the internet only for these three things:

  • UK bank holidays (GOV.UK). When you press GOV.UK Sync in the Working Days tool, the app downloads the public list of UK bank holidays from gov.uk. Nothing about you is included. See the GOV.UK privacy notice.
  • Live local weather (Open-Meteo). Only if you choose the Live Local Weather world and check the sky, the app sends the name of the town you typed in to Open-Meteo, which sends back the weather. The app never uses your computer's location services. See the Open-Meteo terms and privacy.
  • Microsoft Store. To check whether you have unlocked the Luxury Suite. See below.

Like any internet connection, these services see your computer's IP address so they can send the answer back. We never receive it.

4. Permissions

The app asks Windows for one capability only: internet access, for the three connections above. It does not use your location, camera, microphone, contacts, files or pictures.

5. Purchases

If you buy the Luxury Suite, by the year or with the lifetime unlock, the payment is handled entirely by Microsoft through the Microsoft Store, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We never see your name, card or bank details. Microsoft only tells the app whether the Luxury Suite is unlocked. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Microsoft account.

No adverts, no tracking, no selling

  • No advertising of any kind, and no advertising code inside the app.
  • No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking tools, no "pixels" and no profiling.
  • We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence.
  • No account, sign-in or registration is needed, now or later.

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), and the EU GDPR where it applies, we must explain why we are allowed to use any personal information. We hold no personal information about you through the app. The town name and requests described above go straight from your computer to GOV.UK, Open-Meteo or Microsoft only when you ask for that feature. If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply, which is in both our interests.

How long anything is kept

  • Information on your device stays until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
  • We keep no logs that identify you. Our hosting providers may keep short-lived technical and security logs (for example, to stop attacks), under their own policies.
  • Emails you send us are kept in our email account for as long as we need them to help you, and are then deleted.

Where information goes in the world

The services named in this policy (such as Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare) operate worldwide, so the little information they handle may be processed outside the United Kingdom. These companies use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum and standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit or stop how we use it, or to give you a copy. Where we rely on your permission, you can withdraw it at any time. Because the app keeps your information on your own device, we usually hold nothing about you at all, apart from any emails you send us. To make a request, email appsmagnificent@gmail.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority in your own country. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

For people in the United States, including California: we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Children

Magnificent Calculator is suitable for everyone (rated 3+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, and the app never asks for it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Keeping things safe

Your information stays on your device, protected by your device's own security (such as your screen lock). Whenever the app connects to the internet, the connection is encrypted (HTTPS). We never ask for passwords, card numbers or bank details.

Changes to this policy

If Magnificent Calculator changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page before the change reaches you, and change the date at the top. If a change needs your permission (for example, a new device permission), the app will ask you first.
